The UN mandate in Iraq expires on December 31, 2008. I have been reading about different small countries withdrawing their troops. The only ones remaining after Dec. 31 will be the U.S., Britain, Australia, El Salvador, Estonia and Romania. Britain will be leaving by May 2009. I'm hoping Iraq will be able to step into the roles left and our troops don't have more piled on them. Because there is talk about having to move into Basra after Britain leaves.
